I have recently added a new image/logo to the right side of my blog (yes, on the right, that blue and white Greek key circle… no don’t get distracted by the photo slideshow, scroll down people!) for The Greek Wives Club and thought that I would write a quick post to explain all about this other passion of mine.
I founded The Greek Wives Club in 2012 when I got married (so desperate for support was I!) and since then it has grown into something of a community business.
Initially the idea behind the club was to create a place for all the wives/ girlfriends / partners / friends of Greek men, who may not even be Greek themselves, to come together and share their experiences of life with a Spartan ape.
It was also meant to act as another platform for my blog and book but has also been used to help promote other bloggers and authors who write about relevant themes.
General rants and raves as well as recipes and ideas on how to keep the in-laws sweet are shared, along with quotations, words of wisdom and the odd photo.
The club’s following has really grown in recent months and in turn shows support for other like-minded groups and blogs including the hugely successful blog Greek Weddings and Traditions run by fellow Greek Wife and Greek Wedding Shop owner Sia Aristidou.
The aim of the club now is to reach out and show support to women (and men if they want to join!), other clubs, groups, restaurants, writers, artists and communities all over the world who want to share anything related to life amongst the Greek nation.
I’ve also opened up a Greek Wives Club Store on Zazzle, where I have created a range of merchandise with the club’s logo including a Greek Wives Club apron, mug, notebook, T-shirts and other accessories. Some of the T-Shirts are even adorned with printed quotations from my book.
The club recently celebrated it’s ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY with a goody give-away competition and I was astounded by the number of people who entered.
A short film/music project is now lined up which will feature some of the members of The Greek Wives Club, and a new range of merchandise is also being designed.
So thanks to all those who have joined and shown their support to the club and long may we help each other in the never-predictable journey that is life with a Greek man. 😉
