Drip drip drop little April showers! So this month was FULL of favourites for me as there was so much going on and along with all of the gifts I received for my birthday, I also splurged on a lot of bits and pieces as well. What can I say, turning 30 opened the floodgates. My purse’s floodgates. So here’s what I’ve been loving this April.
Last month I tortured you with My Curly Haircare Story on Youtube and featured several products including one of my all time faves, the Umberto Giannini range. To my surprise and delight, the company contacted me through Instagram and kindly sent me a few of their new range to try out. I absolutely love them! I’ve noticed a real difference in the definition of my curls from using the curl control cream after washing my hair. The mousse is great when my hair is dry and needs a bit of de-frizzing. The hair mask is so conditioning and all the products are very light and not overly fragranced. Another win for Umberto!
Conceal don’t feel…
Dark circles are one of my main skincare issues and I’m forever looking for miracle products that cover them properly. As I don’t tend to wear foundation, I need something that works pretty much by itself although I do use a corrector underneath sometimes. So when I came across the bareMinerals complete coverage serum, I had to try it. As it’s a serum, it doesn’t dry out my under-eyes which I found was happening a lot with some other concealers. The consistency is quite thick but it glides on beautifully and has great coverage. I chose the shade ‘Light’.
I’ve gone Coconutty
I have to admit that I HATE the smell of coconut oil. I find it soooo sickly! However, I purchased the Vita Coco Coconut Oil from Holland & Barrett to treat my son’s cradle cap and within a few weeks his scalp was like new! I tried using olive oil but it just wasn’t thick enough to get rid of the scaly skin so I am now recommending coconut oil to all and sundry.
I have gone through many jewellery cases in my time but I am now in love with the Vlando Portable Jewellery Case which I received for my birthday.
It can hold a surprisingly large amount of jewellery and looks so chic and much more expensive than it’s highly affordable price tag.
Sore throat saviour
I’ve had a bit of a cough lately and the ONLY thing that has been helping are Strepsils Extra Triple Action Cherry Lozenges. Prior to tasting this new cherry flavour I was never a fan of Strepsils and found cough sweets in general to be more of a…well…sweet, rather than an actual cough remedy. Until I tried the extra triple action. They really do help soothe the throat and they taste great as well!
