I cannot believe October is almost at an end. Christmas is literally around the corner! (There I’ve said it!). So if you are trying to be organised this year and not leave all your present-buying to the last minute, perhaps you’ll be inspired by my October favourites.
The REN Flash Defence Anti-Pollution Mist keeps the skin protected from all the nasty pollutants in the air and also acts as a make-up setter. You can even re-apply it throughout the day to give your skin a boost and leave you feeling refreshed. It is not heavy like some sprays and has a lovely subtle scent. Sometimes I just spray it over my moisturiser when I’m not wearing make-up to make sure my skin is extra-hydrated.
I decided it was time for some new make-up brushes in my life but wanted something cheap and cheerful. I found this Isabella Scott Sydney 3 piece contour set from TK Maxx which includes a blush brush, a buffing brush, and a stippling brush. I can’t find a UK link anywhere and the brushes are not showing up on the TK Maxx website BUT they are still in there. The set is really lovely and would make a great Christmas present. Oh and the best part is it was under a tenner!
The The Wind in the Willows is one of those timeless classics that readers of all ages will cherish forever. I got this copy in my BritMums goody bag and can’t wait to read it to my children when they are a little bit older.
Goodbye Dark Circles
I have been wanting to try the Darphin Anti Dark Circle Illuminator for ages but it is quite pricey and I had to save up the pennies first! I’ve tried a lot of eye creams and gels but none of them have this really nifty little metallic tip which is so cooling. The cream is enriched with illuminating translucent optics, peptide and vitamin C. The best part is the fact that the cream is lightly tinted so it also acts as a corrector before you’ve even applied your concealer. It’s a win win!
Loud and Clear
I use my iPhone for most of my youtube videos especially when vlogging. I just find it so easy and it means that I can create content straight on my phone as well as on my mac. The only downside is that the inbuilt microphone isn’t that great. I previously used the Lavlier clip on mike which worked OK and was very cheap, but it kept falling off. So I decided to spend a bit more and invest in the Saramonic iMic for the grand total of £19.95. So far it has worked beautifully. You simply plug it into the headphone part of your phone and record away. The sound quality is so much better and it’s such a nifty gadget. Another great stocking filler idea!
