So I awoke this morning with a huge chocolate brownie and macaroon hangover thanks to the organisers of the Mustela UK blogging event I attended yesterday afternoon. After adding a parenting section to my blog I was lucky enough to be invited along to the event by The Bloggers Lounge – a marketing agency that partners bloggers with brands (if you haven’t heard of them already do check out their blog!).
The event was held to launch Mustela’s latest range of skincare products designed specifically for new and expectant mothers.
Since 1950 Mustela have been the skincare experts for babies and mothers-to-be offering a complete range of specially formulated skincare to best address the changes in the delicate skin of newborns, babies, children, mothers-to-be and new mothers. Their latest maternite (that’s the French ‘maternite’ not ‘maternity’ – I haven’t made a spelling mistake I promise!) product line features the first complete range of products specially designed for the skin of new and expectant mothers.
The line includes 7 different products:
Body Firming Gel
Bust Firming Serum
Light Legs Gel
Soothing Moisturising Balm
Stretch Marks Prevention Cream
Stretch Marks Prevention Oil
Stretch Marks Recovery Serum
I met the lovely Kristina and Veronique from the Mustela team who provided an informative and concise presentation discussing the Mustela brand and how the new line has been developed. All Mustela products are safe, effective and increasingly natural, with 92% of ingredients coming from natural sources.
I must confess that when I was pregnant I tried every different lotion and potion on the market in a bid to keep my skin soft and supple and devoid of stretchmarks and found that many pharmacies continue to sell products that are full of parabens and questionable ingredients. In the end I used an alternate combination of bio oil, olive oil (of course!) Palmers sickeningly sweet coco body butter and a ridiculously expensive thick avocado cream (which smelt delicious but left me with a slight green tinge). Had I known of Mustela I most certainly would have ditched the pungent potions for their simple skin solutions.
Having tested a few free samples generously provided by the event hosts I am delighted to say that Mustela have come up with very lightly fragranced products that seem to have a very smooth consistency and absorb well into the skin. Included in my goody bag were lots of product samples, an information leaflet and a funky toiletry bag (a girl can never have enough toiletry bags!) Woop woop!
I will hopefully be doing a more detailed blog post reviewing the products for you all at a later stage and would love to hear from any of you who may have already used Mustela products.
I had a really lovely time at the event and met some very interesting yummy mummy bloggers (!) who I hope to connect with further in the near future. Many thanks in particular to Shabz from The Bloggers Lounge for bringing us all together and to Kristina and Veronique for hosting the event.
